Rent a kayak unit with equipment from Oulu's Nallikari and enjoy the city's most beautiful scenery on your own.
Our rental shop is located in the best spot in Oulu, at the landing site of the paddling routes of River Oulujoki Delta, right at the heart of seaside Oulu, in front of Nallikari beach, on the ground floor at street level of the Aalto hotel building.
In addition, we have a container rental station about a 10-minute walk away, on the shore of Mustasalmi (Vellamontie), where we can hand over kayaks if the wind at the beach is too strong. In that case, you can start your paddling trip directly from the sheltered Mustasalmi water channel, which provides quick access to the Oulu River Delta.
Nallikari offers excellent surroundings for kayaking. From our rental shop, you can head either out to sea or into the Oulu River Delta. You can choose a route through the scenic Mustasalmi channel or explore the culturally rich landscape of Toppilansalmi. Set off on your own paddling adventure – alone, with family, or with friends.
During the summer season (June 1–August 31), the rental shop is open daily from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM (weather permitting). To ensure equipment availability at your preferred time, we recommend booking in advance. Just check the calendar for available times and make a reservation easily!
What if the wind surprises you at Nallikari on the day of rental?
No worries! We have a backup plan: You can pick up the kayaks just a few minutes' walk away directly from the shore of Mustasalmi water channel, where one of our rental containers is located. This way, you can start paddling directly from sheltered waters.
Our rental kayak units are mainly Rainbow Oasis and Exo Artic 1 basic kayaks, which are especially suitable for beginners. They are easy, stable, and track well. The kayak units are best suited for day trips, but overnight trips are also possible. The kayaks have front and rear hatch covers, 4-point foot supports, and a deck net. Suitable for paddler sizes S-XL.
Other rental kayaks include:
Rainbow Oasis 4.30 Max Expedition basic kayak, a sister model of the Oasis 4.30 Exp equipped with a larger cockpit, suitable for larger paddlers.
Dagger Stratos 14.5 L kayak, suitable for M-XL sized paddlers. The Stratos is excellent for surfing or rough water paddling.
North Shore Aspect RM LV kayak, suitable for paddlers weighing 40-90 kg. The kayak is agile, easy to control, and a seaworthy all-rounder sea kayak. Its storage spaces are sufficient for short day or weekend trips.
When renting, you can choose the kayak model you prefer. The kayak rental includes a paddle, spray deck, and a universal size life jacket.

2 hours: 30€
(We recommend this duration if you don’t plan to visit the Oulu River Delta but wish to paddle only on the sea or experience either the Mustasalmi or Toppilansalmi channel.)
3 hours: 35€
(We recommend this duration if you want to explore the Oulu River Delta and access the area via the Mustasalmi or Toppilansalmi channel.)
5 hours: 45€
(We recommend this duration if you want to explore the Oulu River Delta, access it via the Mustasalmi or Toppilansalmi channel, and take breaks at designated landing spots along the way.)
8 hours: 50€
(We recommend this duration if you want to spend the entire day on the water, take breaks, and fully experience both the Oulu River Delta and the coastal sea area.)
