Experience the magical winter nature of Northern Finland while hunting Northern lights in Oulu.

Enjoy the beautiful winter nature of Northern Finland while on our Aurora Hunting safari in Oulu. With a bit of luck, the highlight of the tour is a dance of Auroras across a starry Northern sky. We are proud to collaborate with Thomas Kast, a top professional in Northern lights tours, who serves as a trainer and consultant for Nallikari Safaris.

The Aurora Hunting safari begins at our Nallikari Experience Center 8 PM. In the beginning, participants have the opportunity to change into winter clothing. The experience continues with transportation to the Northern lights viewing location in comfortable car or a minibus. Please note that the effort of finding the location best suited for the conditions may require spending a couple of hours in vehicles during the evening.

While your group is transported, you'll get to meet our guides who'll share insights on Finland's winter nature and the auroras. They will also assist your group with camera and smartphone settings to help capture this unique experience.

During this tour, we will immerse ourselves in the nocturnal nature of the Oulu region, exploring its serene landscapes under the cover of darkness. Along the way, we will gather around an open fire, where the warm glow of the flames creates a magical atmosphere. Here, we will enjoy delicious snacks and hot beverages, letting the tranquility of the night enhance this unforgettable experience.

While we strive to provide the best experience possible, it is important to realize that Northern Lights sightings can never be guaranteed. If the weather forecast indicates cloudy or snowy conditions that make sightings impossible, we offer two alternative solutions:

1) We will organize a snowshoeing safari (or, if there's no snow, a nighttime nature walk) in enchanting dark autumnal or winter forest of Oulu. We'll also set up a campfire for frying sausages and brewing pot coffee over the open flames. Enjoy the enchanting forest scenery in glow of headlamps and gather around the fire as we share stories about the Northern winter nature and the mesmerizing aurora borealis.

2) The customer may cancel their participation, in which case 75% of the service price will be refunded.

Please note: Changing a date of a safari is usually impossible on short notice and for this reason the service price does not include an option for changes one week prior to the service.
